SEASONS STARS TIMOTHY WEST AND PRUNELLA SCALES
Moody, dramatic music are an intricate part of the production in which Harold and Joan, an elderly loving couple, who are settling down into retirement to end of their days together. However, as time moves forward, it soon becomes clear they will be torn apart sooner, and more tragically, than they realize.
Do you prefer getting your news from the television or the radio? And what about sports? Should the games travel to follow the weather?
Joan needs her pain killers. She recalls that childbirth was more painful, but still, she needs her painkillers.
Harold muses that her new hip will probably have to be imported.
Joan says its true that you become your parents. They remember the good old days. They recall their children - when they bother to stop by. Son Thomas had become a father - a girl they named Elizabeth.
Harold has lost his hair. Joan is offended when he mentions her gray hair.
They are old.
Joan's memory is slipping.
She used to enjoy looking through the grocery ads deciding what to fix for dinner. Now she can't remember "Chops for dinner" immediately after she says it.
They talk around and over each other in separate but important commentary about what was and is.
She asks her husband if he has fed the cat even though they haven't had a cat in years.
Joan becomes hysterical when she believes the rain is going to kill her and Harold. First the rain will kill the leaves, then them.
Seasons by Jack Bowman is credited as Gareth Parker. Tom Brazier directed some of the most skilled actors to grace a stage: Timothy West, Prunella Scales, Ann Theato as the nurse and Emily Wright as the weather girl .
Harold no longer sleeps well.
Original music composed and performed by Francescia Quadraruopolo is the production's co-star. Orchestrated chimes and a piano indicate the passage of time as memory slips away.
Memories. Those of Harold and Joan are changing. Dramatic music shuts down as Harold and Joan discover that they have no choice but to - accept.

EDVARD MUNCH: TECHNICALLY SPEAKING Edvard Munch, "Two Human Beings (The Lonely Ones)," 1906–08. Oil on canvas. Harvard Art Museums/Busch-Reisinger Museum, The Philip and Lynn Straus Collection, 2023.551.
 |
Discover the experimental methods of Edvard Munch, who creatively explored materials and techniques across media. Through July 27, 2025
Special Exhibitions Gallery, Harvard Art Museums.
A dynamic collaboration between curatorial and conservation experts at the Harvard Art Museums, Edvard Munch: Technically Speaking offers rare insight into the Norwegian artist’s innovative techniques and the recurring themes across his paintings, woodcuts, lithographs, etchings, and combination prints. Thanks to a transformational gift from the collection of Philip A. and Lynn G. Straus, the Harvard Art Museums house one of the largest and most significant collections of artwork by Munch in the United States, and the exhibition showcases roughly 70 works, including key loans from the Munchmuseet, Oslo.
Visitors are invited to explore Munch’s artistic process, uncovering his playful approach and fascination with materiality. He returned to some themes repeatedly during his lifetime, carrying motifs across printmaking and painting and demonstrating how a single idea can evoke different responses through shifts in color and orientation. In the exhibition, prints are displayed alongside the original copper plates, woodblocks, and lithography stones used to create them, providing further access into Munch’s experimental practice. Edvard Munch: Technically Speaking also features groundbreaking research that sheds new light on the artist’s techniques and processes.
Curated by Elizabeth M. Rudy, Carl A. Weyerhaeuser Curator of Prints, and Lynette Roth, Daimler Curator of the Busch-Reisinger Museum; with Peter Murphy, Stefan Engelhorn Curatorial Fellow in the Busch-Reisinger Museum.

KING CHARLES HAS A PLAYLIST
With an "on air" sign on his highly polished desk, King Charles is photographed at Buckingham Palace recording his new project. Apple Music photo.

King Charles has always been a music lover. Accomplished as a cello player, had he not been born to wear a crown he might be playing in symphony orchestras.
Or, perhaps he would have form his own group - Charles and the Royal Notes. Or, perhaps Chuck and the Tune Makers.
When he isn't on personal allegro he enjoys listening to a wide variety of music - from Bob Marley to Kylie Minogue.
On Monday, March 10, 2025 (British time) in honor of Commonwealth Day, he will launch the King's Music Room, a playlist partnership with Apple Music.
"The King’s Music Room will premiere on Apple Music 1 on Monday, March 10, at 6 a.m. GMT (10 p.m. PT) for free. Users can also listen anytime on demand with an Apple Music subscription"
King Charles III is launching a personal playlist of music that lifts his sprits and brings back important memories, including Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue and Grace Jones.
A video trailer shows the band for the changing of the guard outside the palace playing Bob Marley's Could You Be Loved, in a project to celebrate music from Commonwealth countries.
In America, the Full Episode Arrives 11 pm PT, March 9, 2025.
"So this is what I particularly wanted to share - songs which have brought me joy," the King said in a speech.
"Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me," the King declares.
"I know that is also the case for so many others.
"It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places.
But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration.
In other words, it brings us joy."
As well as as reggae from Marley and dance music from Minogue, there are contributions from Nigerian-American singer-songwriter Davido and British singer-songwriter Raye.
The project reflects the King's musical interests through his life, ranging from 1930s crooners to Afrobeat stars.
He also shares anecdotes about some of the artists and reveals why the songs help form the soundtrack to his life.
"This seemed such an interesting and innovative way to celebrate this year's Commonwealth Day," the King said.
"Human curation has always been a key pillar of our unique editorial approach,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s global head of content and editorial. "Apple Music Radio is where culture is happening worldwide, and we are honored that King Charles III chose to share his personal playlist with us, and with music fans around the world."

LAST CALL a new play by Peter Danish.
Directed by Gil Mehmert.
For half a century, American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein and Austrian conductor Herbert von Karajan were the world's most celebrated figures in classical music – and the fiercest of rivals. Their influence transcended music into popular culture, politics, and almost every facet of the modern landscape. Late in their lives these titans of classical music unexpectedly crossed paths one last time at the Sacher Hotel in Vienna. Inspired by true events, Last Call brings us to this meeting as both men struggle to find common ground through their music and their lives over one last drink. The play mixes storytelling and music, giving audience members a glimpse into the complex minds of these two music titans.
Von Karajan was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 34 years. He helped found the London’s Philharmonia Orchestra in 1948, and in 1955 he became music director of the Berlin Philharmonic. A Nazi Party member from 1933 to 1942, Karajan was exonerated by an Allied tribunal after World War II, but his American debut in 1955 precipitated public protests.
Bernstein, on the opposite end of the spectrum, was Jewish, and made his New York Philharmonic conducting debut in 1943. He went on to compose the scores of "On the Town", "Wonderful Town", "Candide," and "West Side Story." He made his conducting debut with the Vienna Philharmonic in 1966, beginning a lifelong relationship with the orchestra.
In an intriguing twist, Bernstein and von Karajan will be played by two of Germany's leading actresses, the American born Helen Schneider as Bernstein and Lucca Züchner as von Karajan. Last Call also features Victor Petersen as Michael – the waiter.
The creatives are: scenic design by Chris Barreca, costume design by Renè Neumann, lighting design by Michael Grundner, original music and sound design by Lindsay Jones, and video and projection design by Austin Switser. Last Call is general managed by Perry Street Theatricals and the executive producer is Martin Platt.
Performances begin at New World Stages, Stage 5 in New York City on March 12, with opening night set for March 16, playing a limited engagement through May 4, 2025.

GARSIDE'S CAREER
Written by Harold Brighouse.
Directed by Matt Dickson.
Garside's Career tells the story of Peter Garside’s soaring flight from working engineer to member of Parliament, propelled by a 'silver tongue' and an insatiable fascination with his power to persuade. Mint’s production of Garside's Career is the New York Premiere. The play had an extended run in Boston in 1919 ("admirable in construction, realistic in characterization, bright in wit and keen in satire") and a New York production was announced, but never happened. Even in the U.K. this bright, witty, political satire seems to have completely disappeared.
Featuring Erik Gratton, Sara Haider, Daniel Marconi, Melissa Maxwell, Paul Niebanck, Michael Schantz, Madeline Seidman, Amelia White, and Avery Whitted.
Performances at the Mint Theater Company in New York City through March 15, 2025.
LA GOTA FRIA: THE COLD SWEAT written and produced by Anna Capunay.
Directed by Gregory Lipson.
An incisive, heartfelt, and darkly funny new play that takes an unflinching look at the medical industry, personal agency, and the lengths we go to for quality of life.
La Gota Fria is bill as "a poignant and provocative sick family comedy that challenges our perceptions of healthcare, alternative treatments, and the power of familial love in the face of mortality. The play follows Josefina Gonzalez, a determined matriarch who, upon receiving a terminal diagnosis, chooses to forego further medical intervention—only to find her tight-knit family, and one particularly meddlesome friend, pulling her in unexpected directions. With a mix of drama, laughter, music, dance, and even a pet cat, this play takes audiences on a journey that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
"A sharp and timely perspective, tackling the industry’s ethics with both humor and humanity. It will resonate deeply with audiences and critics alike."
Performances through Sunday, March 23, 2025 at THe Players Theatre in New York City.
THE PILLOWMAN by Martin Mc Donagh.
Co-Directed by Summer Bohnenkamp and David Jenkins.
An electrifying and savagely funny black comedy about a fiction writer (Georgia Mallory Guy) in an unnamed totalitarian state who is interrogated when a number of bizarre incidents occurring in her town resemble the gruesome content of her short stories. FINAL OVATION
GENE HACKMAN AND WIFE BETSY ARAKAWA HEART BREAKING SAD CAUSES OF DEATH were released by Santa Fe, New Mexico authorities on March 7, 2025.
Gene and Betsy were both found dead in their New Mexico home on February 26, 2025.
Hackman, 95, probably died February 17 or 18, 2025 from a combination of high blood pressure and extensive heart disease and suffered from advanced Alzheimers, and Betsy Arakawa, 65, died around February 11, 2025 of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a virus that infects the lungs and is usually contracted from rodent excrement, officials said Friday at a news conference. It is not transmissible from person to person.
A CDC source told DailyMail.com that while the couple's main home did not show any signs of rodent activity, some of the property's outbuildings - including a garage and two casitas - had rodent droppings and other evidence of rodent activity.
Dr. Heather Jarrell, Chief Medical Investigator for the state of New Mexico, said their deaths had both been ruled as natural, and that no signs of internal or external trauma were found. Jarrell added that it was likely that Hackman didn't even realize his wife had died due to his advanced Alzheimer's.
Jarrell said that there was no food inside Hackman, and that there was no signs of dehydration.
Their dog Zinna, who was found dead near Arakawa, was picked up by Arakawa from a veterinary hospital on February 9 after undergoing a procedure, which may explain why it was found in a kennel, according to authorities. Currently Zinna is being examined in an attempt to determined if she died from starvation or dehydration.
On February 11, authorities said Arakawa had an email conversation with her massage therapist before later in the afternoon going to a farmers market.
She was caught on CVS surveillance footage shortly after the market, before then going to a local pet food store.
Her car was then seen on surveillance entering the gated community at 5:15pm on February 11.
Officials said that numerous emails went unopened on February 11, and that there was no further communication from her account after that day.
PAMELA BACH actress and ex-wife of David Hasselhoff died March 5, 2025 from suicide. She was 61.
Paramedics were called to her home late on Wednesday night March 5, 2025 and found dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Bach originated the role of Mari Jo Mason on daytime drama The Young and Restless, and is best known for making believable two significantly different characters in her roles on Baywatch (1989) and Sirens (1993).
She is survived by her two daughters Taylor and Hayley.
GLENN PADNICK whose passion for movies and television brought about decade-defining sitcoms, including the iconic show Seinfeld, died February 27, 2025. He was 77.
Glenn was a first-generation college student and the first from his high school to attend Harvard College. He wrote for The Harvard Crimson and expected a career in journalism.
In 1968, Glenn married his high school girlfriend Eleanor Rimai and began reporting for Long Island's Newsday. After a year of being a reporter, he entered Harvard Law School and was on the Harvard Law Review. While in law school, Glenn wrote TV movie blurbs for the Boston Herald Traveler.
Upon graduation, Glenn moved to Los Angeles to join O'Melveny and Myers' Entertainment Department. After a year of writing contracts for Norman Lear's shows, Glenn was recruited by Alan Horn to serve as Lear's in-house legal counsel. Glenn agreed on the condition that he be given an opportunity to work on the creative side of television. Glenn transitioned to television executive and went on to produce canonical comedy shows of the 1980s and 1990s: "Diff'rent Strokes," "Who's the Boss," "The Facts of Life" and "Married With Children." Glenn co-founded Castle Rock Entertainment, and as President of Television, he developed Seinfeld. Glenn's distinctive laugh can be heard in almost every episode.
Glenn retired from full-time work in 2003 because of a rare illness, Erdheim Chester Disease. But he never let his chronic medical issues - including a kidney transplant made possible by his son Robert - diminish his zest for life.
Glenn's lifelong goal was to visit every USA National Park Service site. At last count, he had visited 398 sites and recorded every visit with a stamp in his National Park Passport. His love of our National Parks led him to serve on the board of the National Parks Conservation Association for many years.
Glenn is survived by his wife Eleanor, daughter Susan (Chris Cohen), son Steven (Sara Hames), son Robert (Sarah Wick), six grandchildren, sisters Dale Braunschweig and Jill Martin, nieces and nephew and loving cousins and friends.
