FORDHAM SEMINARS AND PARTICIPANTS

ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 24 the seminar will feature A One on One conversation with Valery Fokin, who will discuss his directing work and the work of Meyerhold, including new research into his recently uncovered and unpublished writings. Anatoly Smeliansky of the Moscow Art Theatre will serve as moderator. This event is co-sponsored by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF).

ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 25 a dialogue on acting, directing and the new Moscow Art Theatre/Meyerhold Center collaboration in director training. Panelists include Valery Fokin, Anatoly Smeliansky, Zelda Fichandler, and Lawrence Sacharow. Kristin Linklater will moderate. (Co-sponsored with SDCF.)

ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 26 two master classes take place. One with Anatoly Smeliansky on Russian Theatre. and the other, for actors and directors will be taught by Fokin on his work and explorations of Meyerhold and Artaud.

ON MONDAY, JANUARY 27 Anatoly Smeliansky discusses he phenomenon of the Moscow Art Theatre 1898-1998. The paradox of the M.A.T. as it mirrors the history of Russian culture.
